Ainsley's Bridals

I had the opportunity of working with Ainsley on three separate occasions which was so much fun! I first helped her with her hair and makeup for her engagements, makeup for her bridals, and makeup for her wedding day! I loved working with her! She is just about as sweet as they come! Ainsley was going for a vintage vixen look for her bridals and really wanted to show off her inner movie star... and boy did she ever! SO SO SO gorgeous! Nicole's Bridals

I seriously cannot believe how many fun photos that I have to share with you! I definitely am making it my goal in the next week or so to catch up on my blogging!

Nicole was such a sweet girl! I just loved helping her get ready for her bridals. I even had the chance to meet her at her shoot and touch up a little and give her a different look with her hair. She loves all things pink, so we went with a lot of varying shades of pink on her makeup. She also wanted to pull her bangs back into a braid and have tight curls cascading around her veil. Check out her fun before and after! I just love what I do! She looks gorgeous! Photos by Terra Cooper of Magnifique Photography.

Kayla's Pre Wedding Shoot

I had the opportunity to fly to San Diego for Kayla's wedding. She is so gorgeous inside and out and I loved working with her on this shoot! I was lucky enough to travel with Terra Cooper of Magnifique Photography and we had way too much fun! The trip was full of delicious food, running around like crazy, a beautiful wedding, oh yeah and a breathtaking photoshoot at the beach. When we flew in we rushed from the airport to Oceanside to meet with gorgeous Kayla and to get her ready in time for the photoshoot. It was a race against time (and the sun setting). I was able to get her ready in under an hour with the help of Terra's mad blow drying skills! I really wanted to capture her natural beauty along with the beach feel. We kept her makeup simple, highlighting her eyes and giving her a sun touched glow. I wanted to give her hair some added texture along with a fun fishtail braid. I wanted her to look wind swept, but elegant. Terra had purchased a wedding dress for only $10 and it fit Kayla perfectly! So what better way to have fun in the ocean than in this wedding dress! Thank goodness for water proof makeup! Terra is such an amazing photographer, in case you were wondering! She was out in the waves giggling and jumping trying to keep her camera dry. She will do just about anything to get an amazing shot! And that she did! Photos by Magnifique Photography Enjoy these breathtaking photos!

Creating Different Looks Through Hair and Makeup Artistry

This is a great blog post written by the amazing Terra Cooper of Magnifique Photography. It has great advice for brides and anyone getting photos done! Click HERE to check it out.

It is amazing what a difference professional photography and professional hair and makeup application can make to your photos. Especially if you have a theme or a specific look that you are going for.

These photos are of the same models, and the photos were taken less than a week apart. The left side photos were taken for the Country Chic photoshoot, and the photos on the right were taken during the Roaring 20's photoshoot. Heather, the model in first photo, later told me that her friends and family didn't even recognize her when she was done up as a 20's vixen!

Roaring 20's Photoshoot

I am seriously in L-O-V-E with this photoshoot. Terra Cooper asked me to help her out with a roaring 20's shoot with a modern feel. We had beautiful models, gowns, and scenery to work with! Terra had seen a red double decker bus in Draper that we really wanted to use for the shoot, so she contacted the owners. They actually run the Strangling Brothers Haunted Circus. For people that run a haunted attraction, (which I am terrified of haunted houses so in my mind I was expecting a couple of terrifying people) they were some of the nicest people I have ever met! They gave us some fun history of the bus and how they acquired it. It actually came to America from England on the last voyage of the Queen Mary. It was still running and so perfect for the shoot! Our darling friend Janet from Danielle's Bridal had some perfect wedding gowns and accessories and was so sweet to bring them with! As always, her selection of gowns are to die for!

My inspiration for this shoot was very Clara Bow type hair and makeup. I wanted lots of fingerwaves, and faux-bobs. With 1920's makeup you really have to do opposite of everything that you normally do. Changing the shape of the brow and focusing on the inner corners of the eyes rather than the outer corner. Because camera/video technology in the 1920s was very basic, the women had to enhance their features with lots of makeup. I wanted to replicate that, but with a modern smokey eye and dramatic lip, extending the cupids bow. I am just in love with these photos, and I hope you are too!! The darling blue vintage car was provided by Something Vintage Something Blue. The photography was done by the very talented Terra Cooper of Magnifique Photography.

Can this style of veil PLEASE come back into style? Because I love it. ALOT.
